I first met Gene 4 at a WVU graduation for his grandson Gene 6. Gene 4 was so proud of Gene 6. After receiving his diploma Gene 4 texted Gene 6 and asked, "is it signed?" He was such a warm and personable man. His love for his son and family was so very evident. God be with you Gene 4. My prayers are with you and your family.

My dear friend:
Words cannot express how heartbroken I was to learn of your passing. You were a very dear friend of many years and saying a final goodbye is hard.
I remember so much ... how you, Mary Ann, Joe and I would travel down to Maryland for weekends ... eating at Wet Willy's and having refreshments in the gazebo at the motel. How you taught Joe and I the PROPER way to crack crabs and hollering when we "missed" and pieces of crabs went flying all over the place!
How we all met at your house for those delicious dinners you fixed ... and how the four of us talked and laughed way into the night.
And being on the CLPO Board together was such a great pleasure indeed. I treasure those years.
How Joe would stay with Mary Ann while the two of us attended Board meetings and how you stood close by when Joe died, supporting and sympathetic. And then, when my mother passed four weeks later, you were right there by my side.
I remember much, old friend. And I wish you great peace on the next plane. Give Joe and Mary Ann a kiss from me ... and you all save some of those crabs for when I get there!
Kathleen
