Madeline E. Zimmerman, age 96, passed away Monday, July 27, at Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center. Madeline was born in Newark, NJ, and lived most of her life in Denville before moving to Budd Lake. She retired from Fidelity Trust Co. after 35 years of service. Madeline was a Lifetime Member and Past President of VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Denville Post # 2519.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 68 years, Robert G. "Bert" Zimmerman in 2003. She is survived by her son, Robert A. Zimmerman and his wife Florence; grandchildren Robert S. Zimmerman and Diane Zimmerman-Rich; five great-grandchildren, Casey, Holly, Connor, Jesse, and Elise; and dear friend and caregiver of 5 years, Ella Arkie.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30 at 8:30 pm. Friends may call at Norman-Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
