Bob was a great, great man.
A true definition of a leader.
Those who worked for him learned so much (painful at times).
We all emerged stronger, wiser and better from his tutelage.
He was a living legend to so many people.

Hi Mary, Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet your dad. He was so accomplished and must have been a very interesting and engaging gentleman. So glad that he was able to meet his great grand daughter and visit with Jen and you so recently. Our thoughts are with you daily. Let the memories of wonderful times with your dad gently take the place of the sadness of his passing. With deepest sympathy, Janet and Steve

Dear Simone, Bobby, Mary Francis and family; All of the Shines were very sad to learn of Mr. O’Keefe’s passing. Like his good friend Bill Shine, he represented an era, in life and business leadership, that is unparalleled. Strong, ethical, trustworthy, loyal, faithful, patriotic, loving; Mr. O’Keefe is a man to be cherished and never forgotten. His presence in my life helped drive the importance of faith, a strong worth ethic, and honesty. Not to mention, he could make the best shell steak in the world; I will never forget my memories of Garden Street dinners and watching 60 Minutes in the leather recliner. Our prayers and love are with you all…

So many wonderful times with Bob while we both were working with Maryland National Bank. Bob always made us feel essential and like 'friends' even when times were tough.
Oren and I had a great opportunity to visit with Bob and Simone right after they moved to Florida and we laughed and dined on paper plates because their moving van had been broken into. So many treasures lost but both looked on the bright side. Family and friends always mattered most and Bob and Simone always made you feel that. Oren and I sends our thoughts and prayers to Simone and the family.

Simone,
I am very sorry for being unable to make it to the services, but I want you to know that my prayers are with you. Your husband was a great man and I am sure that his memory will remain as such. My children (Michael and Bill) send their condolences as well as they have grown up with the stories and pride that I spent with Mr. O'Keefe as his secretary.

Connie and I worked for Mr. O'Keefe back in the 80's. We certainly learned a lot from him. Eveyone was afraid of him, but in fact he really was a "teddy bear".
Dear Simone, our deepest and most sincere condolences to you and the family. May you rest in peace, Mr. O'Keefe.

I met Bob over 45 yrs ago when I was hired by the Bank. I was the 1st teenager that ever worked for him & he seemed to take great care to watch over me. He was a very imposing figure with a rather booming voice but with a heart 100 times larger than his body. He was gone from the Bank by the time I was promoted to SVP, but one of the 1st to call & congratulate me. Rest in peace dear friend

There is no way to briefly convey my admiration of and affection for Bob. Above all else he was a really good man, who influenced and changed lives. An inspirational leader with the knowledge and experience to effect significant change in a large operational organization. Bob's leadership greatly enhanced American Security Bank's computer and operational support services. To me he was a TRUE FRIEND and will so remain in my heart. Recently we had a telephone chat recalling "old times" at ASB. I am so glad we did- it will be a lasting memory.

Simone, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You know how much Bob meant to me -- to us. I pulled out my wedding pictures and there's one of me dancing with my Dad, then Charlie's Dad, then Bob. Kinda says it all! Wish we could be there with you.
Love, Vicki and Charlie

Your passing marks the end of an era in my life. Bob played the most enormous role in my life, setting an example for professional excellence, integrity and loyalty that helped make me the success that I am. He was a guiding light and a legend in his own time. He will be so sorely missed by me and all those that he touched - many. Peace Simone. See you Friday and Saturday.
