He was born in Morristown and was a resident of Denville for over 50 Years. Mr. Ducey served during WWII in the US Army attaining the rank of Captain. He was employed at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover for over 30 years retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer for the Denville Beautification Committee, and loved Golf. He was predeceased by his wife Mary A. Ducey in 2006, and his brother Raymond Ducey and his sister Louise Rochelle. He is survived by his daughters, Ann and her husband Ray Anderson of Chester, Joan and her husband Leif Larsen of Rockaway, his sister Peggy Ducey Richards of New Vernon also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. Melvin’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ , www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Melvin on web site), on Thursday June 11th at 9:00am for a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Mary’s Church, Denville, NJ, interment and committal services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9PM.
