Jennings, of Boonton Township (formerly of Bloomfield and East Orange) passed away on Saturday March 28, 2009 at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Denville, NJ. He was born in Scranton, PA. Thomas was a resident of East Orange and Bloomfield before moving to Boonton Township 32 years ago. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during WW II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2519, Denville, NJ and the Knights of Columbus Council 1954, Boonton, NJ. He was employed at the Newark Evening News and The Star Ledger as a printer and a member of the Newark Federal Typographical Union until he began a career in sales 40 years ago. Known by many as the Window and Door man, he loved meeting people and his passion for door to door salesmanship continued until he retired at the age of 86. He was predeceased by a daughter Karen, his brothers Robert and Edward, and his sisters Maryalice and Jean. Thomas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose (nee Peterson) Jennings, his five children, Lynn and her husband Eugene Kinnealy of Boonton Township, Thomas and his wife Anita of West Milford, Kevin and his wife Traci of West Milford, Brian of Boonton Township, and Gregory and his wife Carol of Denville, and his six grandchildren, Michael, Michele, Karen, Thomas (TJ), Keith, and Emily. “Thomas will be loved and missed by many. He will be remembered for his easy going personality, love of family, gift of conversation and sense of humor.” Thomas’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Thomas on web site), on Wednesday April 1st at 9:30am for a 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial service at Our Lady of Magnificat Church, Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ, committal and interment services at Our Lady of Magnificat Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday March 31st at funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
