Our condolences to Buddy's family. I always new Alphonse as Buddy as I grew up with him in the Fairchild section of Morris Township, Buddy lived on Pine Tree Lane and I lived accross the street on Mill Rd.I always knew Buddy to be a good friend and we eventually lived in the same neighborhood in Denville. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting this man I can only assume he was wonderful by the daughter (Mary)that he raised with such strong ethics and family values. In my younger years I recall how handsome "Uncle Buddy" was.
When my brother Peter was married I remember Uncle Buddy giving me a small figurine of a
Topo Gigo (a small mouse on the Ed Sullivan show)while I was in the church. In a family photo you can clearly see I have a small toy clutched in my little fist. I will always remember his smile. There is a great story about Uncle Larry's black shoes, a wedding, drinking, Uncle Buddy and my brothers Harry and Peter... We'll talk soon and I'm sorry to hear of Uncle Buddy's passing. Our memories of buddy include frequent trips to home depot and phone calls to borrow tools on his trips to visit his daughter Mary in Florida. It wasn't unusual to get a phone call and an urgent request for help in his quest to take care of Mary. He could be gruff but he loved his children. God Bless and feel comfort that he is at peace with God now!

I remember seeing Mary's father in front of her house when he visited trimming trees and she was there with him assisitng in the process bagging the leaves and taking direction from him (and a lot of direction at that).
