I had the pleasure of spending a month in Australia with Theresa on the Rotary Exchange. In the weeks leading up the trip and throughout, we all got to know each other and I found Theresa to be the balance one needs when traveling abroad.
It was a pleasure to share the experience that changed my life in many ways with her.
From riding in 4X4's in the steep sand dunes, to the airplane ride (which I seem to remember her not being fond of...) out to the Abrolhos islands we got to see so many great things.
May Theresa rest in peace knowing that she engaged the world with a smile and a good spirit.

I only saw you and Theresa once a year, but it was always time I looked forward to. The few minutes we spent together per surf expo certainly added up over the (many) years!
What a wonderful, vibrant, bright light Theresa was and I will always remember her. My thoughts are with you and I hope loving memories bring you some comfort.

The Little Ship
I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted her white sails with a golden light, and as she disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, “She is gone”.
But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion had whispered, “She is gone” a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, “Here she comes!”
There are many who greeted Theresa on the other shore with open arms. I am sure of that.

We have no doubt that every angel in heaven has already been instructed to start thinking of a halloween costume because T is hosting one heck of a party this coming October in heaven. Her commitment and courage she gave to her friends and family is a lesson that we as teachers promise to carry on. Thank you for loving us and allowing us to love you. The Legacy
When I die, give what is left of me to children
If you need to cry, cry for others walking beside you.
Put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me.
I want to leave you with something better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I have known and loved.
If you cannot live without me, then let me live on in your eyes, your mind and your acts of kindness.
You can love me most by letting hands touch hands and letting go of children that need to be free.
Love does not die, people do.
So that when all that is left of me is love . . .
Give me away . . .

I have known Theresa since she opened Beach Hut in 1988. Her smile, positive attitude, and always seeing the best in everyone are the gifts/blessings she always shared. I have been involved in competitive swimming all my life and was very pleased to be able to pass on and recommend Theresa & Co. to the different teams I've been affiliated with. Not only did we have a wonderful working relationship - it grew into a friendship. There is always a bigger picture to see (something Theresa and I shared) - my family had seen my mother through lung cancer. Shortly after my Mom passed on, Theresa was diagnosed with her breast cancer - I was able to share some insights and experiences with her, I know she found comfort in. My thoughts and prayers have been with her throughout her courageous battle with breast cancer and they will continue to be with her friends and family. The news of her passing makes my "heart hurt", however, sharing a "space of time" with Theresa will always be a blessing in my life.

My memories of Theresa go back to when she was just a little girl on Rockaway Ave. Theresa was cute as she tried to figure out "the gang" of Carole's friends that were hanging around the house!Years later she was measuring our children for swim uniforms at Horseshoe Lake- When she became involved heart and soul into the Chamber in Denville, I saw that little girl turn into a community leader-selflessly putting all of her energy into every task that she embrased- we will miss Theresa but everyone of us is better for knowing her,and we can learn from her positive attitude. Even through her tremendous struggle she was a piller in the community raising awarness for cancer and making the most of Life!
