JOSEPH HENRY POPOLIZIO, 79 died on Sunday July 30, 2006 at the Kindred Hospital in Dover. He was born July 9, 1927 to Thomas and Jane (Woodcock) Popolizio in Clifton NJ. Educated in the Clifton schools and a graduate of Clifton High School, Mr. Popolizio enlisted in the US Navy at seventeen years of age in 1944. He served as a Gunners Mate Third Class on the USS Ocklawaha A084 mainly in China and Japan at the close of WWII. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. After active duty, he was enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During his career he managed all phases and positions in the trucking industry, retiring in 1989. Upon retiring, Joseph designed and built a house, enjoyed trout fishing, boating, golfing, repairing cars, and in the winter months at his Florida home, he also enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Frances (nee Martin) Popolizio, his three daughters Edith and her husband Bruce Sinclair, Nancy and Jack Moore, Lois and Jerry Walker. Joseph is also survived by his loving grandchildren Joseph Sinclair, Jackie and Noel Moore, and Gerard and Emma Walker. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday August 3,2006 at 11:00 AM at The Church of the Saviour 155 Morris Avenue Denville NJ 07834. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 2, 2006 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville NJ 07834. www.normandean.com
