James R. Kelly Sr., 83, died on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at the Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center, Denville, NJ.
Mr. Kelly was born in Lewes, Delaware and was a resident of Smoke Rise section of Kinnelon for 40 years, the last two years in Denville, NJ.
Mr. Kelly served during World War II in the United States Navy in the South Pacific on the Destroyer Nicholas the Chief Engineer. He was a graduate of the University of Delaware and received a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was employed as salesman for several companies in sales of dyes, paper, and chemicals; his last employment was with Atlantic Chemicals, Nutley, NJ for 18 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Our Lady of Magnificat Church in Kinnelon, NJ. He was member of the VFW Post 8096 in Butler, NJ.
On October 8th, 1960 Jeanne Simon and James R. Kelly were married, she survives him. His son James R. Kelly Jr. and his wife Susan of Skillman, NJ, his two daughters Carol Kelly of Hackettstown, NJ and Sheila Crowe and her husband John of Smoke Rise, NJ, and four grandchildren Erin, Patrick, Brian, and Liam survive him.
