Peter A. Dachisen Sr. died on Sat. May 13, 2006 at his daughters home in Pennington, NJ. Pete was born and raised in Rockaway, NJ and moved to Denville in 1940. He went to work at Picatinny Arsenal in 1939 as a supervisor in the munitions dept. Then in 1944 he joined the US Army during WWII, and achieved rank of Staff Sergeant being discharged in 1946, returning to Picatinny Arsenal until retiring in 1973. He enjoyed 65 years of marriage with his loving wife Doris. He took pleasure from four main things in this life: Family, Faith, Friends and Golf. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, especially teaching them how to play golf. He was a daily communicant at St. Marys Church in Denville, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, a Senior Acolyte, and ran the annual golf outings. After retirement he worked for many years at Rockaway River Country Club in Denville, maintaining the golf carts and working as a ranger. Friends and family spent a lot of time in his backyard golf range getting lessons. Pete was a kind loving and an endearing man. He lost his loving wife Doris E. died in April 2005, his daughter Linda Bravo died in 2003, and his daughter Joan died in 1961. He is survived by his children and their spouses Harry and Silva Dachisen of Denville, Peter and the late Barbara Dachisen of Philipsburg, Christopher and Lynn Dachisen of Warren, Mary Beth and Geoffrey Dean of Branchville, and Helen and Andrew McDade of Pennington, NJ. He is also survived by his brother Steven Dachisen of Rockaway Twp., and 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
