Mary C. (Murphy) Nelson passed away at her home in Mansfield Twp., NJ on August 29, 2012.
She was 87 years old.
Born in Manhattan, NY she raised her family in both Hicksville, L.I. and Denville, NJ. She lived with her daughter, son and daughter in-law since 1995 in the Hackettstown area.
Mary worked as an executive secretary at Warner Lambert / Pfizer in Morris Plains, NJ for many years before retiring in the early 1980's.
A working mother, before it became popular, the center of Mary's life was always her family. She was most proud of her six children and their life choices. Nothing made her smile more than her times with her beloved grandchildren.
She was a member of the Warner Lambert Retiree's Group and a member of Our Lady of the Mountain Parish in Long Valley.
Mary was predeceased by her husband John F. Nelson in 1992.
She is survived by her children Anne & Michael Camasso of Newark, DE, Edward & Maureen Nelson of Sparta, Patricia & Warren Weinstein of Randolph, Thomas & Toni Nelson of FL, John & Katherine Nelson of Mansfield, and Rosemary Nelson of Hackettstown, NJ. She is also survived by her 9 Grandchildren and her brother Arthur Murphy of Haymarket, VA.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30AM on Saturday September 1, 2012 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Mary's Church in Danville for a 10:30AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
