Bertha J. Mills Novak, 89, died on Thursday March 30, 2006 at Crestwood Nursing Home in Whippany, NJ. She was born in New Jersey and lived in Rockaway for over fifty years moving to Denville in 1998. Bertha worked for Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Twp. for many years retiring many years ago. She also volunteered at St. Clares Hospital in Denville for 11 years. Her first husband Joseph B. W. Mills died in 1956. She is survived by her three children Lorrie Garabrant of Denville, Rosemarie Cafasso of Deland, Fla., and Fred Mills of Reno, Nev. her 10 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Orlin S. Van Duyne Jr. and her sister Emily Romano both of Boonton, NJ. Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Monday April 3, 2006 at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Cecilias R. C. Church in Rockaway, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations are being accepted to the Denville Fire Department 2 Indian Rd. Denville, NJ 07834.
