Clifford W. Jones passed away at Marlton Hospital in Marlton, NJ on Tuesday March 14, 2006. He was 87 years old. Born in Jersey City he had spent 70+ years in Union City before moving to Rockaway, NJ in 1991. Clifford served in the US Army during WWII and fought in the Africa, Sicily, and Southern France Invasions, and the Tunisia, Sicily, Rome, Algeria and Morocco Campaigns. He was the proprietor of an embroidery business in Union City called Bertcliff Embroideries before retiring at the age of 72 Clifford was a member of the American Legion Post 14 in Union City, NJ, and a member of St. Cecilias Church in Rockaway, NJ His wife of 60 years, Bertha L. (Gehwiler) of Rockaway survives him. His children Dr. Clifford W. Jones of Shamong, NJ, Kathleen A. Jones of Union City, NJ, and Arlene Cunningham of Rockaway, NJ. also survive him. His Granddaughters Jaclyn & Lisa Callan, and Alicia & Emily Jones also survive him. Funeral from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com at 9AM on Friday March 17, for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Cecilias Church in Rockaway, NJ. Friends may visit on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
