To my Mom with love - you were the greatest inspiration a woman/daughter could ask for. You tought me how to live and how to forgive. You tought me how to be the best I could be, you my precious Mother gave me the lessons on life:
Be good, helpful to others fair and trusting, positive attitude, make things right when wrong. To know myself, my talents, my goals, and not be afraid to work hard.
To have many interests,to live laugh and have fun. You taught me the respect to love the beauty of nature, have friendhsips with good people. Honor friends and be a good friend and sister, appreciate the importanc of family, respect and love the older members. To be intelligent, listen and adhere to my personal values. You taught me not to be afraid, stick to what I beleive in, do not follow others when others are wrong. Plan a life for myself, choose my path, be in healthy relationships with someone worthy of MEE. Love this person and my siblings, unconditionally with body and mind and share all that I have learned with them all. Mom you provided me with the greatest insight and your lessons did not go unnoticed. I am proud that you taught me to be a woman equal of all men, and that you loved me every second of my life. You supported me at all times as my MOTHER, as a person, and as my best friend. and I will always cherish you and I love everything about you my beautiful Motherxoxoxo

It has taken me some time to actually get on this website and read all of the beautiful thoughts everyone has shared about my grandmother. Sharing my own feelings about her has taken some time as well. I can tell you one thing about her and we all know this very well too; she certainly was a firecracker. Always moving, always talking and advising, always listening and always loving. She loved her family and we loved her very much and although it makes me sad that she won't be with us on holidays or birthdays anymore, I know that she is in a better place and finally at peace. She's with her Bridie and that's the best we could wish for her. I always got such a kick out of my Grandma because she could insult you yet compliment you in the same sentence. I know that sounds weird or maybe even a little mean but for those who knew her best, you know what I'm talking about. I once asked her what I was going to do when she died and she said to me, "Jessi, people die. You move on. Look at what I had to do. I buried 2 husbands, my mother and my father. You just move on. Take your wonderful loving memories and never forget the difference that person made in your life." And now that she's gone I can say that for all of those who knew her, we will never forget little white-haired Annie and the difference she made in all of our lives.

I have wonderful memories of our family visits to Denville by the lake back in the 60's and my later visits to see Aunt Anne and Peter. I loved to listen to her stories of her travels and how passionate she was in her quest to help those that needed it. She was also my personal historian when it came to the Lyons family. I only wish I had stopped to visit more often. I will miss her.

When I think of you Little Annie (I only called you that in the past few years because you did shrink) I'll recall following Lois and I to school with her rubber boots that she forgot? to put on. I'll see you riding your bike around the top of the hill. Talking to my mom about your bad backs and what to do make them better. How you survived so many things, your trials and tribulations...and your advice to me about raising my own son...I am eternally grateful and blessed having you and your family as my friends...forever.

To Lois and siblings,
This poem reminds me so much of your mom.
To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do you mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had precious years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me if grieve you must then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on so if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear. And then when you must come this way alone. I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home!"
Our condolences.

What a beautiful picture! It has been so long since I have seen your Mom but this is just how I remember her. I remember camping in your homemade tent in the backyard and your Mom was so nice to me when everyone went in the house scared and abandoned me by myself. I did much better when you all took me with you camping down the shore. I always felt like one of the family. Sorry I can't get down to see all of you. Your Mom was a wonderful person and she will be greatly missed!

Never before, nor will I ever again meet a woman as generous and unselfish as my grandmother. From spending every day at the Nursing Home, to her devoted loyalty to her family, this woman always kept her finger on the button. She was the epitome of "carpe diem" and living your life to the fullest. As was said before, she was the "original bucket list". She taught me so much in my life, and she imparted to me a wild spirit of insatiable adventurousness. In memory of my grandmother, I will really try to live every day to the fullest, and you can bet that while she is keeping an eye on me from above, she will never catch me sitting on the couch, wasting a day, watching tv. We on earth are sad about our loss, but heaven truly gained an angel when she passed. I know she is always keeping a watchful eye on us, and it's what helps me get through the days.

My sister was as they say one of a kind. She was the original Bucket List (if you don’t know what that means see the movie). She did more in her lifetime than anyone I can think of, from hot air balloon rides to outbound trips, to mountain climbing, and riverboat trips, to Alaskan adventures. She lived life to the fullest and encouraged everyone she encountered to do the same. It is appropriate that she lived in New Jersey, Frank Sanatra’s home state as she always did it her way. She loved to make every day an adventure and would change plans at the drop of a hat to have one, which could sometimes drive Peter and the rest of us crazy sometimes especially if you were waiting on her for dinner. But we all loved her and she could get away with it. She left behind a legacy, five of the greatest kids in the world. They all reflect a piece of her in different ways; all have her spirit and thirst for adventure. They are the best nieces and nephew anyone could have. Anne was so proud of all of them. She didn’t always let them know that but she always told me so. She also brought Peter into our lives; we all lovingly call him Saint Peter, as you would have to be to keep up with our Anne. He was always there to go along with whatever she wanted to do. Peter is great guy and we love him and our heart goes out to him at this time. Even though we all know that she is in a better place and has escaped the pain that she faced daily and the inability to even walk or move around, we still miss her and could never be fully ready for the day she left us. I will always miss her but will remember all the good times we had and the love we shared and I know she will be watching over all of us saying get off your butt and do something to help someone or do something your have never done before. Her lesson to all of us Live your “Life to the fullest”.

She truely made this world a better place and the people she's touched through her love and work will never forget the witty, white-haired woman who changed their lives. Leaving us with her loving, devoted husband Peter, she somehow managed to continue giving even in death. Crossing the Bar
Alfred Lord Tenneyson
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
