Aurora Georgina (nee Lisak) Miksic, 95, has died on Wed, March 8 in Denville, NJafter a short illness. Shewas born in Zagreb, Austria-Hungary now Croatia and first came to America with her mother, Mary and sister Ameliain 1911 to St Paul, Minnesota with her father, an Austrian consular officer. Shereturned to Zagreb in 1916, survived the European flu epidemic and immigrated to America in 1920Aurora grew up and schooledin Aliquippa, PA, learning piano andcame to New York City in 1930 to pursue a career in fashion design where she married Mark T Miksic and where they lovingly raised four children. She became thecenter and joy of a large and loving family: her children, Mark Miksic of Sea Cliff, NY, Joan (Miksic) Platek of Rockaway, NJ, Richard Miksic of New York, NY and Michael Miksic of Lansford, PA.Her 10 grandchildren: Christopher, Judy, Robert, Philip, Matthew, James, Daniel, Andrea, Christina and Marlena,22 great-grandchildrenand a myriad of Miksic family, their spouses and their friends. Aurora made friends wherever she lived and traveled and moved to Denville, NJ in 2000.Her sense of justice led her to write many letters to public officials. One of them to the CEO of Ekherds Drugstores in 1993 led them to institute the home delivery of drugs in Aliquippa. Aurora is pre-deceased by her husband, Mark T Miksic in 1964 and her sister, Amelia Lisakof AliquippaPA in 1997.
