Ralph DeBlasio, 95, passed away peacefully at Regency Grande Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on, Monday May 20, at 10:00 am at the Chapel at St. Francis, Pocono Road, Denville, NJ. Interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ. Born in Belleville, Ralph spent most of his life in Newark. He moved to Denville in 1988 to be closer to his family. He enlisted into the US Army where he proudly served his country during WWII. Upon his return to the states, he married Aida his childhood sweetheart. Ralph worked as the Caretaker for Branch Brook Park for many years until his retirement in 1987. He was a longtime member of the Catholic War Veterans Association of NJ and VFW Post # 3401 of Morris Plains. He was also very active in his community, volunteering much of his time to St. Clare’s Hospital and the Harvest Festival in Denville. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Predeceased by his wife Aida of 42 years, his brother Samuel De Blasio, and sister Ida Fogel; he is survived by his loving daughter Sharyn Miller and her husband James; his three adoring grandchildren Noelle (Joseph) O’Malley, Joy’l (Adam) Olenoski, and Cory (Laura) Miller; his great grandchildren J.J. O’Malley, Lia Olenoski and Aiden Miller; his sister Jean Barkas, and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
