Obituary of Margaret Anne “Marge” Sventy

Margaret Anne Sventy, 74, died Tuesday Dec. 27, 2005 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ.
Marge was born in Passaic, NJ andraised in Clifton, NJ.She lived in Denville for many years before moving with her husband to HongKong in 1983. In 1989 theyreturned to the US, settling in Montville, NJ.
She was a homemaker while her children were growing up, and later she owned and operated Antique stores in Boonton.While in HongKong she designed and exported handmade country crafts back to the US. She had also written childrens books in both English and Cantonese under thepen name Maranda.
She had been active in the League of Women Voters in Denville, as well as an active volunteer for the St. Clare's Harvest Festival, and as a storyteller for the Denville Public Library. She also volunteered at Greystone State Hospital in Parsippany.
She had a whimsical imagination, with a talent for writing.Shewrote skits both in HongKong for the American Club and for Denvilles 75th Anniversary in 1989, as well asfor other organizations and occasions.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Andrew J., her three sons Thomas of Pipersville, PA., James and his wife Shawn of Gillette, and John and his wife Carol of Kinnelon. She is also survived by her three loving grandchildren; Michelle, Rebecca, and Benjamin.
