Obituary of Leslie Vernon Rear

Leslie Vernon Rear passed away at Heath Village in Hackettstown on October 16, 2005.
He was 91 years old.
Born in Haledon, NJ he had lived in Denville from 1946, to 1989, before moving to Hackettstown, NJ.
He received a Bachelors degree from Paterson State Normal School in 1934, and then received a Masters in Education from Rutgers in 1947. He then received certificates in elementary school principal, and school administration. He went on to work as superintendent of schools in Hanover Township till 1963, then in Morris County till 1973.
Leslie was instrumental in getting Morris Votech and County College of Morris started and he also served on their board of directors. He was a charter member and past president of the Denville Rotary Club. He was a member and served on the board of trustees for the Denville United Methodist Church, and also was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown. He was also an active member of the Heath Village Residents Council.
He is pre deceased by his wife Anna P. (Petrisin) who passed away in 1990, and his second wife Agnes Williams who passed away in 2002.
Leslie is survived by his children Marilyn Morgan of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and Ronald Rear of Moneta, VA.
His Grandchildren David, Sally, Marcia and Glenn, and his Great Grandchildren Shannon, Daniel and Kyle also survive him.
Graveside services will be held on October 29, at 11AM at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ, and a Memorial service will be held on October 30, at 2PM at Heath Village in Hackettsyown, NJ.
