Obituary of Anna M. Reynolds

Anna Pelos Reynolds died on Wednesday September 14, 2005 in Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Clares Hospital Dover, NJ. Born in Madison, NJ September 15, 1911 she was the fifth of ten children of the late Amedeo and Annette Micone. The Micones raised their family in Summit where Anna attended public school, graduating from Newark Preparatory School. She partnered with her first husband Peter F. Pelos in business including the Arrowhead Tavern in Denville, which they operated for 23 years. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church, in Mountain Lakes, NJ. She was one of the oldest active members of the Lakeland Hills YMCA, a membership she cherished and a member of the Cedar Lake Community Club. She was an accomplished gardener and cook and will be remembered for her warm family gatherings and fighting spirit. Her husband of 38 years, Edward Reynolds, her daughters Mary Ann and her husband Peter Ancona of Randolph, and Judith and her husband John Schleicher of Denville survive her. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, James and wife Anne Ancona of Worchester, MA, Peter and his wife Kathleen Ancona of Newtown, PA, Katia Ancona of Berkeley, CA, Blair Schleicher Wilson of Mountain Lakes, Lianne and husband Tim Adams of Rockaway Twp., John and wife Susan Schleicher of Rockaway Twp., Krista and husband Brian of Bartow, FL, and Kurt and wife Diane Schleicher of Bartow, FL. Her seventeen great grandchildren survive her, Thomas and Mark Ancona, Sara and Emily Ancona, John, Michael, Deanna and Leah Wilson, and Dennis and Eric Russo, Kylie and Andrew Schleicher, and Madison, Ariel, and Kurt Schleicher, and Alexah and McKenzie Newton. Also is survived by four great great granddaughters, Annalee and Ashlynn Wilson, Lily Wilson and Gianna Alkateeb. Brother Dr. Edward Micone of Summit, Mary Ruggerio of Atlanta, GA Ellen Lo Piano of Davie, FL and Rena Anthony of Penbrook Pines, FL, also survives her. Her first husband Peter F. Pelos, a daughter Carolee Pelos and Grandson Timothy Ancona predecease her.
