Joseph R. McDonough, 54, of Denville, NJ died on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville.
Born in Newark, NJ, Mr. McDonough was raised in Denville and lived in Florham Park and Chatham before returning to Denville in 1999. He was an attorney associated with law firms in Morristown and Newark.
He was a 1968 graduate of Delbarton Prep in Morristown. He earned his B.A. at Middlebury College in Vermont in 1972 and his law degree from Rutgers University, Newark in 1978. He was a member of St. Vincent the Martyr Church in Madison where he served as a lector and as a member on the finance committee. He was a former trustee of Delbarton School where he served as president of the alumni association from 1986 to 1989. In 1993 he was honored by the school as their alumnus of the year. Mr. McDonough was a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and served on the associations ethics committee.
He was the son of the late Richard T. McDonough. He is survived by his children Catherine M., James A. and Grace A. McDonough, all of Chatham; his mother Catherine Burns Mc Donough of Denville; his brothers Richard T. McDonough of Lambertville and Andrew R. McDonough of Chatham and New York City; his aunt and uncle Regina M. and William H. McBride of Spring Lake, NJ.
The funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, July 2 at 10 am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. There will be calling hours at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
