Mildred M. Erwine, 102, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20th. A Funeral Service will be held at the Norman Dean Home For Services on Thursday, April 25th at 10 am. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 24th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Order of The Eastern Star or Compassionate Care Hospice. After her schooling, she met and married James Erwine and the couple settled in Denville in 1950. While raising her children, she worked as manager of the coffee shop in St. Clare’s Hospital. Later, she was an assembler at Johanson Manufacturing Corp., where she would retire from. She was active with the Women’s Club, the Garden Club and the PTA. Mildred was a past Matron of the Mt. Lakes Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Denville Historical Society; and a longtime member of the Denville Community Church. She enjoyed donating her time to the community, shopping and going out to eat; but above all, she loved spending time with her family. Predeceased by her husband James in 1965 and her six sisters; she is survived by her sons Douglas (Loretta) and Raymond (Debra); her five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many other loving relatives, caretakers and friends.
