Obituary of James J “Jack” LaFergola

Rockaway Township -- James J Jack LaFergola, age 79 of Rockaway Township, died Sunday June 5, 2005 at Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville. Mr. LaFergola was born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Emanuel and the late Lucia Oliva LaFergola. He had lived in Bronx, NY for 11 years prior to moving to Rockaway Township 41 years ago. Jack was an avid golfer and loved to go to Atlantic City to play pinochle. He had served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a Quality Control Foreman for guidance systems, employed by Singer-Kearfott, Fairfield, NJ. Mr. LaFergola was a member of American Legion Rockaway Township Post #344 and the Rockaway Township Seniors. He was also a member of St. Clement Pope & Martyr RC Church, Rockaway Township for 41 years. Mr. LaFrergola is survived by his wife, Helen Balestracci of Rockaway Township; two daughters: Deborah (Vincent) Ferrone and Jacqueline (Steven) Idler, both of Rockaway Township; four Grandsons: James (Erin) Ferrone of Rockaway Township; Nicholas Ferrone of Rockaway Borough; Jonathan Idler of Rockaway Township; Gregory Idler of Rockaway Township; and a granddaughter, Danielle Idler of Rockaway Township. Also survived by 1 great granddaughter, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services, Inc. 16 Righter Avenue, Denville (www.normandean.com) Friday, 9:00am. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement Pope & Martyr RC Church, 154 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Rockaway Township, Friday at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at the Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
