Clarence J. “Buck” Forsythe died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 8, 2013. He was 89 years old. Born in Boonton he had lived in Boonton Twp., NJ for the last 62 years. Buck was a veteran of WWII and actively served during the D Day invasion of Normandy’s Omaha Beach thru to the conclusion of the Battle of the Bulge, fighting in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns. He married Helen I. (Bidgood) on July 12, 1947 and was married for 65 years. Buck was the owner of C.J. Forsythe Construction Company for over 50 years. He was a beloved family man, friend, traveler, avid fisherman and member of the First Reformed Church of Boonton. Buck was predeceased by his wife Helen as well as his brother Burdett, and sisters Lorraine and Mildred Stiles. He is survived by his children James C (& Debra) Forsythe of Boonton, Twp, Clifford A. Forsythe of Rockaway, NJ and Barbara Weatherford of Boonton Twp, NJ. His grandchildren Christina, Michael, Shannon, Glenn and Scott as well as his great grandchildren Marcus, Jessica, Kyle, Tiffany, Xavier, Zachary, Dillon and Noah also survive him along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 078343 on Friday April 12, 2013 at 11AM. Interment will follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Twp, NJ. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: VNA of Northern NJ, Boonton Kiwanis Ambulance and Veteran Support Groups.
