Obituary of Mary Alice Moratz

Mary Alice Moratz, 76, died on Thursday Aug. 7, 2008 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla. She was born in Teaneck, NJ daughter of Martin and Ella Cummins. She had lived in Ridgefield Park, before moving to the Lake Intervale section of Parsippany in 1964. In 2005 she moved to Spring Hill Fla. Mary received a B. A. in History from St. Elizabeth's College in Convent Station in 1953. She went on to receive a Masters in Library Science from Caldwell College in Caldwell, NJ. She started working for the Wharton Board of Education in 1969 and helped establish the Duffy School library where she remained as the Librarian until her retirement in 1994. While living in Lake Intervale she was an active member of the Lake Intervale Management Assoc... She had also been a volunteer with the Morris Catholic High School Library. After moving to Florida she continued her volunteering with the local library in Spring Hill. She is survived by her husband Charles J. with whom she was married to for 55 years. Her children and their spouses, John Moratz of Lexington, Ky, Charles J and Donna Moratz of Lexington, Ky., Martin and Margaret Moratz of Lake Intervale, and Chantal Moratz Ph.D and Karl Salzwedel Ph.D of Olney, MD. As well as her special Nephew Frank Andres and his wife Magdalena of Jamestown, RI. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Charles Joseph "CJ" Moratz III, Donald Andrew Moratz, Amy Moratz, Patrick Moratz, Katrina Moratz, Sydney Grayson Salzwedel and Zoe Dare Salzwedel, and a brother Martin and his wife Maureen Cummins of Manasquan, NJ. A liturgy of Christian Burial Service will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church in Mt. Lakes, NJ.
