John Henry Williams, 76 of Massapequa, NY passed away Wednesday, 3/27/13 after suffering a stroke.  He was born in Hocking County, OH to Minnie and Aaron Williams. He spent his childhood between Hocking County, and Pinellas County, FL.   In 1955 he followed his older brother into the army.  He defended the US from Lloyd Harbor Missile base on Long Island.  He had many stories to tell of his time in the Army, but the greatest was the story of meeting the love of his life, Tillie Beck. They married in 1957 and were happily married for 47 raising their family in Massapequa.  They were parishioners of Maria Regina Church in Seaford.  John was a 3rd degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Memorare Council.  John loved his wife and considered her family his own.  He cherished their time together calling them “homecomings” and referring to them as “the Beck Clan”.  They in turn loved him like a brother. John worked for the Town of Oyster Bay in their highway and sign departments working his way up from laborer to supervisor.  He made many great friendships and was proud of keeping the roads safe for all. John loved the outdoors.  He loved being on his boat in the Great South Bay.  He loved hunting in Maine and New York State and built a cabin there.  For many years he belonged to a gun club and earned many trophies for marksmanship.  He enjoyed skiing and had fond memories skiing with his granddaughter.  His later passion became golf and he loved golfing with his dear friends at Sunken Meadow Golf Course and in NYS with his grandson and son-in-law always willing to offer loving advice. John is predeceased by his wife Tillie Beck; their infant twin sons John Henry and Robert Aaron, his sister Helen Cox and his sister Marilyn Colucciello.  He is survived by his son Glenn of Florida and his sons Glenn, Jr., and Nicholas of Alameda, CA; his daughter Darlene Golinski and her husband Chris of Denville, NJ and their children Jennifer of Jersey City, NJ and son, Johnpaul of Newark, NJ; His sister Nancy Edgington of Marrietta, OH and his Brother Bob Williams of Logan, OH as well as his amazing extended family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Residential Community, where John loved to volunteer for the amazing Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, 122 Diamond Spring Road, Denville, NJ 07834.
