Obituary of Charles Everett Headley

Denville -- Charles Everett Headley, age 94 of Denville for 70 years, died Friday Jan. 7, 2005 at home.
Mr. Headley was born in Irvington, NJ, the son of the late William Francis and the late Etta May Courter Headley. Everett lived in Madison during his youth and then attended the University of PA. Everett married the former Carolyn Cobb. He also served in the US Army during World War II with a tour of duty including Northern Africa, Sicily, and Italy. In civilian life he was an Estimator, employed by Picatinny Arsenals Facilities Engineering Division, in Dover where he worked for 20 years before retiring in 1980. He received recognition for over 30 years of service and a number of commendations relating to safety measures at the Arsenal.
Mr. Headley was a life elder of the Union Hill Presbyterian Church in Denville, and a former leader of the Union Hill 4-H Club where he was able to exercise his horticultural skills, especially as a breeder and grower of dahlias.
Everett is survived by his wife; three daughters: Margaret Brosz of Langhorne, PA, Jane Nix of Denville, and Sara Trentacost of Basking Ridge and two sons: Stephen Headley of Lexington, MA, and David Headley of Moorestown. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, Inc., 16 Righter Avenue, Denville (www.normandean.com).
Graveside service will be Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the Millbrook Methodist Cemetery, Randolph.
A Memorial Service will be held Tues. at 2:30 pm in the Union Hill Presbyterian Church of Denville, with the Rev. George Blank officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at the Union Hill Presbyterian Church.
