Obituary of Robert H. McQuilkin

Robert Harmon McQuilkin, 77, died on Tuesday January 4, 2005 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ.
He was born in Spring Lake, NJ and lived in the Denville/ Rockaway area for over 45 Years.
Bob attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.
He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and received the WWII Victory Medal.
He had been Sales Manager for The Whippany Paper Board in Whippany for 25 years before retiring in 1982.
As both a Medic and a pitcher in the Navy, he was named "Doc", and later continued playing baseball with the Morris County Major's for both Whippany and Parsippany. He later coached Denville Little League Baseball.
He loved to be outside, whether it was working in the garden or playing golf at Peace Pipe Country Club in Denville. He was also a big fan of NASCAR, and he would take his family to many races when they were young.
His wife Nancy E. Morris died in Nov. 1999.
He is survived by his five children: James of Cliffwood Beach, NJ, Peter of Rockaway, Jody Holden of Rockaway, Pamela McQuilkin of Apache Jct., AZ, and Jenifer Comras of Boonton Twp. His grandchildren Stephanie Holden, Douglas Holden, Leah Fowler, Erin Haltigan, Kyle Haltigan, Melissa McQuilkin, and Chad Comras, and his three great grandchildren Sara, Caroline, Mariah, and McKenna. He also has two brothers James Baxter of ME, and Douglas of N.H.
Family and friends will be gathering on Sat. January 8, 2005 from 1-4 PM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ www.normandean.com.
