Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, New Jersey 07834 (973) 627-1880 Nancy L. Sheridan, 65, of Denville, passed away at her home on Friday, March 22, 2013. Born in Long Branch, NJ, Nancy was the daughter of the late Louise and Carl Paulson. She grew up in Bergenfield and graduated from Bergenfield High School. She met Charlie, the love of her life, while working a holiday job in 1964. They were married in 1971. Nancy and Charlie lived in Lake Shawnee in Jefferson after they were married and settled in the Indian Lake section on Denville to raise their daughter, Kelly. They remained in their home for the last 35 years. Nancy loved living near the lake and cherished the view of the water from her kitchen window. She often spoke in wonder of observing the changing seasons and the wildlife that visited. Nancy fondly recalled her time spent as a real estate agent with Richards and Holmes and Weichert. She had an entrepreneurial spirit, over the years driving an ice cream truck, operating the concession stand at Indian Lake and sharing her love of antiques and collectibles as a dealer at Iron Carriage in Dover. Nancy was a long term breast cancer survivor. She was a caretaker for her late parents and in-laws, as well as many others. Her strength and kindness were an inspiration to those who knew her. She always put the needs of others first. She was an animal lover, considering pets part of the family. Nancy was spontaneous, had a wonderful sense of humor, loved researching everything online and enjoyed exploring and trying new restaurants with Charlie. Eternally a child at heart, she took great joy in introducing her grandchildren to many cherished places and imparted her love of old music, movies, books and unusual and unique items and toys with them. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved sister, Lois Yurasek. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles; her daughter and best friend, Kelly L. Miniter, and her husband Scott of Boonton; her loving grandchildren, Louise and Scotty; and her beloved poodle, Molly. She is also survived by her neice Lisa English and nephew Thomas Yurasek and their families; neice Helenmary Sheridan; brothers-in-law Thomas Yurasek and Daniel Sheridan; and her uncle Otto Strauss. She also leaves behind cousins, friends and a large extended family. One of her dreams, which she accomplished just weeks ago, was riding on It's a Small World with her grandchildren. This whirlwind road trip to Disney World was possible thanks to the generosity of OneGift. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 11am in the green room at St. Francis Residential Community at 122 Diamond Spring Rd., Denville, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to OneGift, Inc., 310 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960, www.happiness-unlimited.org.
