Richard Jack Hardie 73, died on Monday November 29, 2004 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ. Jack was born in Dover, and grew up in Rockaway, before moving to Denville, in 1959. He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the US Air force. He started working for the N.J. State Department of Transportation in 1961 and retired as Area Supervisor in 1991. His son John J. Hardie died on April 29, 2002, and a brother Michael Strain died this past Aug. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sophie Brodziak. A daughter Marlene Thalman of Denville, and two sons Michael of Parsippany, and Robert of Denville. He has nine grandchildren and a sister Patricia Hunt of Fla. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
