Muriel Preston nee Rath, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Tuesday November 23, 2004 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville. She was born in Orange, NJ and grew up in Bloomfield, before moving to Denville in 1950. She was a Loan Officer for Heritage Bank on South St. in Morristown, for 20 years retiring in 1986. Her husband Donald F. Preston, a World War II Army veteran and a former FBI Agent died on March 24, 1960. Muriel had been an active Girl Scout Leader while her three daughters were growing up. She had also been a member of St. Marys R. C. Church as well as a member of the Denville Womens Club. She had attended an art school after graduating from Bloomfield High School, and she loved to paint with oils. She is survived by her daughters Noelle Haas Lieu of North Caldwell, Denise Brown of Essex Jct., VT., and Alison Preston of both Cambridge, VT and Denville. She is also survived by six grandchildren Donald Haas, Eileen Brown, Jeremy Brown, Richard Grivalsky, Erik Grivalsky, and Bryant Grivalsky, and three great granddaughters, Emily, Sara, and Julia Haas. Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Monday Nov.29, 2004 at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Marys RC Church in Denville, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM.
