Rockaway Borough -- Melvin W. Hopler, Sr., age 78 of Rockaway, died Wednesday (11/3/04) at the Merry Heart Health Care Center, Succasunna.
Mr. Hopler was born in Denville, NJ, the son of the late Russell and the late Edna Bailey Hopler. Mr. Hopler married Angeline G. Truran. He served in the US Navy. He was Self-Employed by Rockaway Warm Air Heating & Cooling Corp.
Mr. Hopler was a member of Member of the American Legion RockDen Post and an avid Golfer and Hunter.
He is survived by three daughters: Carol DiLeo of Ridgefield, Debra LaRosa of Yorba Linda, CA and Linda Byers of Randolph, NJ; one son: Melvin W. Hopler, Jr. of Rockaway, and two brothers: Raymond Hopler of Shelter Island, NY, and Allen Hopler of Denville.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at Norman Dean Home For Services, Inc., 16 Righter Avenue, Denville (www.normandean.com).
Funeral Services will be held Mon. at 10:00 am at the funeral home with burial following at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
