Jean Petty, formerly of Rockaway Jean M. Petty, (nee Milau), 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23rd. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 25th from 4-7 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. A Funeral Service will begin at 7 o’clock that evening. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 131 Mountain Way, Morris Plains, NJ 07950. Born in Queens, NY, Jean was one of three children. After High School, she met and later married Harold Petty, and the couple eventually settled in NJ. They spent many happy years traveling together. Jean was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and loved her extended family and friends she made there. She always played a very active role in the church, her community, and with her family. She worked for General Public Utilities for many years before retiring in 1994. During her career, she enrolled at the College of Saint Elizabeth earning her BA. She enjoyed continuing her travels and her education, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. Predeceased by her husband, Harold, her sister May Faldermeyer, and her brother Howard Milau; she is survived by her nieces Jean Sheridan and Barbara Calvano; nephews Gary, Brett and Scott Milau; and many other dear relatives and friends.
