Mrs. Betsy Heller, 78, of Mountain Lakes died peacefully Thursday, July 10, 2008. Relatives and friends are invited to join a celebration of her life at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 North Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes on Monday, July 14 at 10:00 am. The family will be receiving friends and family at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Road, Denville, NJ, Sunday July 13 from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm. (Please light a candle in Betsys memory on web site www.normandean.com ) In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Claires Auxiliary, Denville. Born in Orange, NJ, Betsy lived in Mountain Lakes for over 45 years and enjoyed her summers in Barnegat Light, NJ. An avid bridge player, Betsy earned the honor title of Bronze Life Master of the ACBL and was chair of the Lake Arrowhead and co-chair of the White Meadow Lake Bridge Clubs. She served on the Board of the Womans Club at St Catherine of Siena Church. Betsy spent 20 years as a volunteer to the St. Clares Hospital of Denville Auxiliary, serving as president for many of those years. She enjoyed bowling with the leagues at Boonton Lanes. While raising her children she gave selflessly to the community. Among those volunteer services were Girl Scout Leader, Boonton/Mt. Lakes/Rockaway Valley Little League, Hub Lakes and Lakeland Swim Associations, and the Lakers Sport Club. She loved the Sunday New York Times Crossword Puzzle, and the NY Mets. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Richard J. Heller, daughter Susan H Marra and her husband John of Flanders, NJ, son Richard J Heller Jr. and his wife Susan of Bedford, New Hampshire, son Stephen F. Heller and his wife Judith of North Caldwell, son Douglas W. and his wife Lynn of Littleton, CO, daughter Elizabeth M Heller of Mountain Lakes, daughter Catherine M. Kravitz and her husband Bob of Fishers, Indiana, son PJ Heller and his wife Pam of Denville. She was a loving grandmother to Melissa and Sara Nelson, John and Kevin Marra, Leslie Smith, Emily and Christine Heller, Michelle and Dana Kravitz, Ryan and Peter Heller, Julia and Stephen Heller, Molly and Erin Heller, and great grandmother to Daishawn Nelson.
