Barbara L. Hinckley, 75, died on Wednesday Sept. 29, 2004 at Franciscan Oaks Health Center, Denville, NJ, following a short illness. She was born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, and lived for 50 years in Saddle Brook, NJ before moving to Mahwah, and then to Franciscan Oaks in Denville, NJ. Barbara graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ in 1966 with a BA in Business. She worked for 36 years at the Exxon Corporation in New York City, culminating as an Assistant Corporate Secretary when retiring in 1983. She has been very active in the Episcopal church first in St. Peters Church in Saddle Brook where she had served on the Vestry, then in St. Clements Episcopal Church in Hawthorne, and now at The Church of the Saviour in Denville where she has been active in St. Marthas Guild. She had also been active at Hackensack University Medical Center serving in the Auxiliary where she served as President from 1993 to 1995, and she was chairman of the Hospital Corner Shop for 2 years where patient gifts are sold. She is also a member of the Legacy Society at the Hospital. She is a member of the A.A.U.W. (American Association of University Women) where she has served the Northwest Bergen Chapter as President, Co-President and, currently, the Treasurer. She is also a member of the Desk and Derrick Club within the petroleum industry. She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, James Graham, Thomas Graham, Kathleen Messina, John Graham, Kenneth Graham, Barbara Ryan, Jeanne Klein, and Theresa Laughlin. Funeral Services will be held on Friday Oct. 1, 2004 at 9:00 PM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com.
