Rachel P. Sarti (Pingaro) passed away at Merry Heart nursing home in Boonton, NJ.
She was 95 years old.
Born in New York City she had lived in the Bronx, Englishtown, NJ and in Tamarac, FL before moving to Rockaway, NJ this past year.
Rachel worked as a secretary for City and Lehman College in NYC.
She was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1987, her son Louis in 2003, her grandson Nicholas in 1982 and her siblings Danny, Rose and Esther.
Rachel is survived by her son Joseph and his wife Madelon of Rockaway Twp., NJ and her daughter in-law Josephine Sarti of Monroe, NJ.
She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren Louis (& Vicky), Anthony (& Krista), Michael (& Anabela), and Robert Sarti (& Matthew Kriley), Elisha Sarti (& Scott) Lickstein, Andrea (& Scott) Cordis, and Alanna Sarti. Her great grandchildren Louis, Alex, Nicholas, Ryan and Rachel Sarti, Audrey and Aidan Cordis, and Kate Correa as well as her sisters Dorothy Scorazari and Lillian (& Sam) Terrase also survive her.
Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Monday March 25, 2013 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Simon the Apostle Church in Rockaway Twp for a 10 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Marcella Union Cemetery in Rockaway Twp. Friends may visit at the funeral on Saturday March 23, form 2-5PM and on Sunday March 24, from 2-5PM.
