Obituary of Vincent Ralph Cardinale
Please share a memory of Vincent to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vincent Cardinale was born in Newark, NJ, to Aurelio and Anna Cardinale. Aurelio was a carpenter from Italy. Vincent studied engineering at Newark College of Engineering for three years. He left his studies to join the Army during WWII. He served as an Army weather forecaster and was stationed in Australia and multiple islands in the Pacific. He earned two medals for his dedicated service to his country: the Pacific medal and the Good Conduct medal.
Vincent married Anna Maria Bianco on August 28, 1954. He and Anna had two sons: Chris of Freehold and Vinnie of Denville. The family moved to Livingston when Chris was 17 months old and Vinnie was two months old. They lived at this house for 44 years until they moved to Rockaway in 2000. Vincent was always very active: he was a Boy Scout leader, a member of Kiwanis, and he belonged to the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. He worked for Lionel Trains in Hillside for 38 years. His favorite past-time was spending time with his family in the house his father built after WWII in Seaside Heights.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Anna. On August 28, the couple would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his two loving sisters, Louise and Gloria both of Livingston; two sons, and five grandchildren.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Barnards R. C. Church, Wharton on Sat. at 10am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange.
Friends will be received at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville (www.normandean.com) on Friday, 2-4 & 7-9pm.
Vincent was an inspiration to everyone who knew him: a beloved and caring husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
