I would like to express my deepest sympathies for my Aunt Cathie and cousin Kristin. I remember Uncle Bruce as a very kindhearted, quiet, gentle man. He will be missed. I had a dream the other night about Uncle Bruce. I dreamt that Grandma, Grandpa, and my dad were all rejoicing in heaven as Uncle Bruce entered, they were all saying "Welcome Home" and everyone was happy and free of pain and suffering. My heart goes out to Cathy & Kristin on the loss of Bruce. After reading other's thoughts & memories I realize how much he meant to everyone and what a wonderful person he was. I didn't get to see Bruce very often in the past years, but I was always impressed with his calm, quiet, but humorous personality. He will be missed.

I have had the privilege of knowing "Mr. Essig" for the past eight years and I may now finally call him "Dad". We shared so many wonderful memories together, from vacationing in Las Vegas to working together in his shop. Before I say goodbye I need to give you my most sincere thanks. Thank you for your support, thank you for your patience, thank you for your forgiveness. Most of all, thank you for giving me your most precious gift - your daugher's hand in marriage. I hope you may rest in peace knowing that I will love and care for your family the way you did. You will be dearly missed by all who knew you.

I have known bruce for about 40 years, we ran in the same group, Cathy is my best friend. Bruce was always tops in our group, always had the best car the best music and knew the best places to go. He is at peace now and there is no more pain, and that is what is important. We will miss him terribly but he will always have a special place in my heart forever. Go with God Bruce, enjoy your freedom, and fly with the angels. Cathy & Krissy I love you. HKPL

How do you say good-by? You have been in my life since we were teenagers. I can't imagine going through the rest of my life without you. We share so much history and so many precious memories. I will never forget the wonder in your eyes the first time you held our daughter. I pray that you are in a better place, one that is free of pain and suffering. I will love you always. Until we meet again...

Although I never had the opportunity to meet Bruce Essig I know he must have been a wonderful person. Kristin always spoke of him with such love. They say that children are a reflection of their parents. Since Kristin is a sensitive, kind and caring person he must have been as well.

I haven't met a kinder, more gentle man than Bruce. As family-to-be, we had many opportunities over the last few years to talk about the future for Kristin and George, and the wonderful life they could have together. It was clear in every conversation how deeply he cared for Cathy and his Kristin! In retrospect, it was such a short time and we will all miss him greatly...

My family has been close with the Essig's my whole life. I have many fond memories of Bruce going back to when I was little and we would all get together to go to Tomahawk Lake and other various gatherings with our families. When Kristin and I were teenagers, he was always there to drive us to the mall, to other friend's houses, anywhere we wanted to go. He was a great man and he will always be remembered in our hearts.

The memories with my dad are endless. We did so many fun things together over the years: trips to Dorney Park every year on his birthday, trips to the mall, rides in the car listening to music, etc. Each and every memory of time spent with my dad makes me smile. He was always there for me to talk to. The words "I'm too busy or not now", never came out of his mouth. He was quiet, but he always gave good advice.
One of my fondest stories is the one my parents always told me about my adoption. They told me my dad always wanted a little girl and he insisted I could do all the things a boy could. My father always believed in me and I always believed in him.

I've known Bruce for many years and every time I saw him he brought a smile to my face. Bruce was better known to me as Big Boy or Brucemister. He was a wonderful man who loved life and his family very much. It took very little to make him happy and this quality made him unforgettable to me. I love you and miss you Big Boy!

I knew Bruce as "Kristin's Dad". He was always there for Kristin and helped her grow into the beautiful, intelligent and kind woman that I call my best friend. Bruce was one of our best friends. He was a very gentle man -- and cared for his friends. After having survived his first bout with cancer many years ago, he found out that my husband Michael had a similar problem and was hospitalized. Bruce was the first person at the hospital to visit Michael. While it turned out that it was not the same illness, it was the thought that counted -- Bruce was going to support a friend. We moved to Florida 4 years ago, and our only regret is that we left the best friends we ever had. We will always love him in spirit and support Cathy and Krissy forever.
