Obituary of Janet Witte

Janet La Dieu Witte, born and raised in Newark, she moved to the Rock Ridge section of Denville in 1950. An active member of the community, she was a PTA mom, Cub Scout Den Mother, and a leader for the Brownie and Girl Scouts. Mrs. Witte helped organize the first Morris Knolls Band Booster Club in 1964. She also volunteered at St. Clares Hospital as a pink lady as well as the Harvest Festival for many years. She attended Monday Senior Group Meetings.
Mrs. Witte was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Mountain Lakes where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Ladies Guild and Steven Ministries. She was also proud to have been one of the original members of the King of Kings Ringers Adult Bell Choir.
Her husband of 51 years, Fred who died in 1998 and her grandson Nicholas Wilson predeceased Mrs. Witte.
Surviving are her son, Richard of Denville, Daughters Nancy of Denville and Kristyn Wilson of Wharton, and her beloved grandson Lexington Wilson of Wharton.
Funeral service at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ on Saturday July 10th at 11:00a.m. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to King if Kings Music Ministry 145 US Highway Rt46 West, Mountain Lakes, NJ or Joey Bella Memorial Fund 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated.
