Obituary of Leon Dufferin Robins

Leon Dufferin Robins, 91, died on Saturday June 26th at the Care One, Parsippany, NJ. Mr. Robins was born in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Robins lived in Denville, NJ for the last 39 years. He came to the United States in 1933 lived in New York City, NY, until his he enlisted in 1940 into the United States Army. Mr. Robins served in the US Army during WW II with the 47th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division. Decorated with the Silver Star for Gallantry, Bronze Star. He fought in eight campaigns in the European Theatre, from the invasion of North Africa in 1942 to V-Day in 1945. After his retirement from US Army in 1963 he was the Chief of Operations in the Army Criminal Investigation Division in New York City from 1963-1974. Mr. Robins is a member of the American Legion Post 390 Denville, NJ, and is a Mason with the Odenton Lodge No0 209 Odenton, Md and St. Johns Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M. Mountain Lakes, NJ He met his wife of 63 years ago in New York, NY, Helen K. Grillo. His daughter Carol Bliss of Mt. Arlington survive him, and five grandchildren, Louis and Anthony Bomentre, Kristen Marquette, Adam and Michael Adams, great grandson Dylan Marquette. Mr. Robins son predeased him in 1991 the late Lee Robins. Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ, on Wednesday June 30th at 9:00a.m. for a 10:00a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial service at St. Catherine of Siena Church Mountain Lakes, NJ. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester, NJ. Friends will be received Monday June 28th 7-9 and Tuesday June 29th 2-4 and 7-9p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Diabetes Action, 426 C Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002
