Louise G. Lizzi, nee Verdi, 100, died on Saturday February 7, 2004 at the Dwelling Place at St. Clares Hospital in Dover, NJ. She was born in Boonton, NJ to James and Angelina Spina Verdi, and has lived there her whole life. She was a homemaker. She was a life member of the Ladies Aux. of the Boonton VFW Gus Ginder Post #242, where she had served as President of the Aux five different times. She was honored as Poppy Queen for 2000, and 2002 because she had sold 2000 poppies each year for twenty years at her Dels Village post. She had also held the office of Guard for ten years, and she had marched in the Wildwood VFW Convention parade when she was 92. Her two brothers Carmen and James Verdi as well as a sister Anna LoRusso died previously. She is survived by her daughter and her husband Flora and Ralph DeSantis of Denville, NJ. She is also survived by two granddaughters and their husbands Dianne and Dan Rogers of Erie, Pa. and Marianne and James McDonald of York, Pa. She has four great grandchildren Patrick and Laura Rogers, and Kevin and Katie McDonald. She is also survived by two brothers Columbus Verdi of Waukegan, Ill. And Rudolph Verdi of Boonton, two sisters Jennie Morra and Rosa Verdi of Boonton. Funeral Services will be held on Friday Feb.13, 2004 at 8:30 AM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R. C. Church in Boonton, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations are being accepted in her name to Saint Clare's Foundation 75 Bloomfield Avenue Denville, N.
