Walter Taylor Denville’s Town Crier Walter Taylor, formerly of Denville, died on Friday at age 82.   Originally from England, Mr. Taylor moved with his family to Denville in 1967 and then settled in Indian Lake two years later.   Walter helped found the first soccer team in Denville and coached the Morris County Militia in Chatham in authentic English marching drill, helping to take them to the national finals competition.   After retiring from the Ferum Company in Rockaway. Walter and his wife Joan worked tirelessly doing charitable work in and around Denville. Walter gave his time to the Joey Bella Fund, food drives, and many other charitable efforts. He worked Election Day every year and was Denville’s official Town Crier. Walter served in the British Army in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers from 1948 – 1950. He was a member of the Denville Senior Club and the “Shoot the Breeze” club.   He is survived by his wife Joan, his sons Steven and Paul, his grandchildren Matthew, Brooke, Loriann, and Eamonn, his great grandson Jack, and his brothers Jack, Peter, and David.   Relatives and friends will be received at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ on Saturday March 2nd from 2-4 PM and are invited to attend funeral services at the Union Hill Presbyterian Church 427 Franklin Road, Denville at 5PM.
