Obituary of Leroy L. “Lee” Carter

Leroy L. Lee Carter, 84, on Saturday Nov. 29th at home in the company of his loved ones. Mr. Carter was born in New York City, NY and lived in Parsippany, NJ for many years. Mr. Carter was a World War II US Army Veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor; he received the American Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star. Mr. Carter was employed at New York Telephone for 35 years retiring in 1982 as an Engineer. After retiring, Lee was active in St. Annes Social Seniors of Parsippany until his stroke in 1997. Lee was an AVID Yankee fan and a member of the NY Telephone Pioneers.
Lee was a wonderful and giving person and will be sorely missed. His first wife Margaret passed away in 1972. Survivors include his second wife of 27 years, Carolyn A; his daughter Ann DeGraff, and husband Bob of Florida and his son, Philip Carter, and wife Doris of Florida; three stepchildren locally, Gary large, and his wife Tammy, Kevin, and Leslie Large. A stepson, Randy Large, passed away in 1996. Four grandchildren and five step grandchildren survive Lee.
Funeral service on Tuesday Dec.2sd at 10:30AM from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ (973)-627-1880. Cremation and committal services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Parsippany Presbyterian Church1675 US Hwy 46 Parsippany, NJ 07054 and to The Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Hospice Assoc. of Northern NJ (Morris CTY), 38 Elm St., Morristown, NJ 07960 would be appreciated.
