Obituary of Francis D. Lecher

Francis D. Lecher passed away at Hackettstown Community Hospital on October 15, 2003. He was 89 years old.
Born in Dover, NJ he lived in Denville, NJ for 50 years before moving to Hackettstown 3 years ago.
He earned a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tri State University in Angola, IN in 1936.
He then worked for the US Army at Picatiny Arsenal in Rockaway, Twp. As a mechanical engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1974. He then went to work for the Daily Record newspaper for 10 years as an executive assistant.
Francis was a member of the North Star Masons Ledge (Wharton, NJ), and a member of N.A.R.F.E. (Natl Association of retired Federal Employees), He was also an organist at the Lower Berkshire Valley United Methodist Church as well as at the Denville Community church (where he was also a member of the choir and active in various boards & committees).
He is pre deceased by his late wife Mary Ruth (2001).
He is survived by his sons; Richard Lecher of Hackettstown, David Letcher of Ewing, NJ, and Dean Lecher of Hackettstown. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
