I am so grateful to have known your creative spirit for so many years. Your light shined best in that way. Working in your classroom, I saw you grow, shine, mature, and laugh. You will be missed. Additionally, I am so proud to have one of your art pieces hanging in my office. It feels like a rare collectors item treasure.
Thank you!
Rest in peace Gabe!

Life was not fair to you Gabe. So sorry you were taken so young...and for the pain now felt by your family and friends who loved you so much. The outpouring of love and tributes from your classmates and teachers is a testament to what you meant to all. Smiles and laughter. So that is what I will remember. RIP Blackbird.

Oh Gabe, I am so sorry for the card that you were dealt. I have so many fond memories with you and I am thinking at the so many of your firsts that we experienced together and the happiness on your face for all of those firsts moments. I am really sorry that your life was cut so short and that you won't be able to experience any more firsts.
I am thinking about:
- your first Great Wolf Lodge experience and how happy and excited you were to try the different water slides
- your first trip to Washington DC and the fun you had running in the World War II memorial water
- your first Dorney Park visit and all the fun we had at all those rides
- your first visit to Sesame place park and how upset you got when the face mask you just had it painted on your face came off
- our first school dance together
- your first Hershey Park experience and the joy seeing all those Christmas lights
- your first Canada and Niagara Falls visit and how much fun we had there, even if it was freezing cold
- not sure if this was your first time ever but it was the first time with me - visiting the cool planes from the intrepid museum
- your first time flying, going to Disney
- your first Disney trip and the excitement on your face seeing all of those rides
- your first Universal studios trip and all the Transformers
- your first Kennedy Space Center trip and all those big rockets and all the questions you had about everything there
- your first Gatorland visit and the fun we had looking at all those alligators, even if it rained almost the whole time
- your first Legoland visit, which was a blast since you were so passionate about your legos
- your first time holding your little sister, just a few days old and your excitement
- your first time visiting Disney as an older brother
- your first time visiting Seaworld and all the cool rides you got to ride many times after
- how cute you were during the engagement photoshoot even if I am sure it was pretty boring for you

My son, Andrew, and Gabe went to preschool together for a year and then to Aaron Decker Elementary School for a few more years. I have several memories of Gabe that stand out, but the memory that stands out the most is how he would help me at the library. When I would go to borrow books for my boys, I remember Gabe being there often. I believe his grandma worked there. He would always show me what books he thought Andrew would like and help me find them. Gabe was a bright light who will be remembered fondly.

Gabe,
This photo was taken nearly 10 years ago when Syd was introduced to the family. In a sea of family members you asked her to read you a story. In that moment, Syd instantly became more comfortable around everyone. We wish we could have told you how much this moment meant to the both of us. You were so funny, smart, creative and always had a smile on your face. We loved to spend time with you when you were there for the loud but fun family parties. We will both miss you so much. Say hi to your Grandpa, Nana and everyone up in heaven for us. We will always love and remember you buddy!
Your cousins,
Alex and Syd

I met Gabe last year in my gym class I never really talked to him much but he always made me and my friends laugh. Once we were outside for gym class and he took an apple off of the tree outside and ate it everyone laughed. I'm so sad to see he's not with us but hopefully he's in a better place now. I'm especially sorry for his family and Kirstyn who even though it was his aid they seemed like great friends R.I.P Gabe.

Gabe,
You were the funny guy in our classroom and always sparked a smile. Your presence was known and respected. I shared your excitement when you went to Disney with your dad. Most kids get to go to Disney once, but you were privileged to visit multiple times. You also spoke highly of your mom. Nobody was allowed to make mom jokes in our class. You would shut the conversation down. As a matter of fact, I remember you being proud of one of your Mother's Day gifts and announcing it to the class. You were a leader and marched to the beat of your own drum. Your signature denim jacket is a trend and I think I might buy one in honor of you. You were always kind and respectful to me in class, so there's a special place in my heart for you. Rest in Peace

Gabe,
There is an emptiness that is impossible to fill or describe.
As Christians if we stand with the risen Christ, we are also made in life's most difficult moments to stand beside the cross.
In his letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul reminds us that now, we see as if looking through a cloudy mirror. Then, in the presence of the Lord, we will know all things.
You are now at peace and with grandpa.
Until that day when every tear will be wiped away and we are together again, we will be reminded of you each time there is a gentle breeze on a summer day or a star shinning brightly in the night sky.
Rest in the peace of Christ.

My first meeting with Gabriel was at his grandparent's house in Butler, NJ. He was about a month old and I fell in love with him. I've had the pleasure of watching him grow up over the years and he never failed to bring a smile to my face or make me laugh. He always explained things to me patiently when I asked him silly questions. I loved telling him 'I have a secret...come here' and when he got nearer I would blow a raspberry on his cheek. His laughter was the sweetest sound. He would then go around telling people 'secrets'. He was sweet, generous, funny, kind, and loving. I consider myself so incredibly lucky to know him and to love him. I love you, my Gabe-a-licious!

Having known Gabe since the day he was born, he brought nothing but joy and light into everyone’s lives. It was a true pleasure watching our children and Gabe grow up and play together. Gabe was always full of a beautiful, contagious energy—whether spending time by the pool or enjoying afternoons at the town fair, he made every moment special.
Welcoming, funny, and kind in every sense of the word, Gabe touched our lives deeply. He has left an indelible mark on our hearts and memories, and we are heartbroken over his passing.
We pray that you rest in eternal peace, dear Gabe. All of our love goes out to you and your family. Love always, The Spear family

I first met Gabe near the end of his 6th grade year. I was a new substitute and assigned to him for the day. I introduced myself as Mr. Frey, and said I’d be hanging out with him for the day, and if he needed anything to let me know. He looked at me and growled. Not exactly sure what to do, I growled back. He looked at me like, “whoa, maybe this guys different.” From then on Gabe and I got along well. When he’d get upset sometimes I would make him laugh by making up ridiculous super heroes with gross powers, like projectile vomit man, or toxic fart man. I always enjoyed my days spent with Gabe covering for his regular aide. He was such a funny, intelligent and creative kid. I saved the pictures he drew for me. I added a couple. I will miss him terribly. Rest in peace Gabe.

I first met Gabe about 8 years ago when I became friends with his mother. Sue, Gabe and I went shopping one day, and she left a bag with me, while picking it up they came into the apartment. Gabe had picked out a pair of red shoes that day and Sue was trying to get him to try them on. I had just made a batch of chocolate chip cookies and was trying to bribe him with one. While Sue and I were talking I remember saying oh where's Gabe and finding him in my kitchen with a cookie in one hand and bacon in the other. Ever since that day he has always come into my home and helped himself to whatever treats we had in the house.
When we went to his parents house he would bring his Lego masterpieces down and show me the monster he created or the drawing he drew. Gabe would be so excited to share about school or the books he was reading. We would sit and debate about cartoons and which ones were the best, talk about food and he would tell me about his "mixed drink" of the day (usually juice and seltzer) He especially loved playing with my son Mikey, Gabe would build towers so Mikey could knock them down. When I had my second son Logan he was so happy and excited to meet him and hold him. He loved to talk about five nights at Freddy and how excited he was to see the movie.
I have too many memories to share, whether it was Gabe entering a watermelon eating contest, dancing with his mom at her wedding, ordering a Shirley Temple for one of Sue's coworkers at the bar, playing with chopsticks at hibachi, his Christmas tree hoodie or of course him trying to get seconds of dessert. He was truly special, creative young man and he will be missed dearly.

I’m Gabe’s Aunt. I’ve been enjoying reading all of your beautiful tributes. I’ll refrain from adding a thousand photos but wanted to add at least a few.
I had the extraordinary privilege of being present at Gabe’s birth. From day one, it has felt like he was always with us, as though we’d never not had him in our lives. I wasn’t able to have a child of my own, but he always felt like he was “mine” to me. All of my friends knew about him because he was such a part of my heart. If I wasn’t with him, he was “with me” in the sense that I thought of him every day. As he was growing up, we would look for fun things to do together. I can’t fathom enjoying activities now, as I was always in the mindset of “maybe he’d enjoy this” when finding experiences.
Gabe was always affectionate, and even as a teenager, was always willing to offer a warm hug. He told me loved me every time we spoke. A few weeks ago, I asked him if he was happy. He assured me that he was, which is all any of us wanted for him. Gabe endured some difficult things in his way too short life, but despite that, he was becoming ever more polite and sweet as he matured.
As many of you said, he was always having fun lighting up a room. He had very little “filter” and would just be himself, which was great. He often taught me how to just be who you are. He did have such a warm smile, and sense of humor.
We had many conversations in the past few years about the future, about getting through his last few years before adulthood, about his plans for life, etc. I don’t look forward to facing the future without him. We were enjoying a new phase in life as we could talk about his thoughts, and I was no longer “watching” him when we were together. By that, I mean that as he grew up, I no longer needed to redirect or supervise him in the same way, as he became more of a companion, who sought guidance but was also able to be a leader. He always made time for his “old aunt” without hesitation. He always went along with anything we asked him to come to with us. I have way too many fun memories to choose from. I would write a novel if I shared them all here.
I am ever grateful for having these fourteen years with him. He made my life worth more. I’m not sure how I’ll survive not having him a part of it.
Gabriel, I will love forever with my whole heart. Please wait for me. I’ll be there when I can. You weren’t supposed to get there first. Thank you for being you, and for making my life infinitely better. You will be forever missed. I’ll see you when I get there.
Eternally,
Aunt Kris

I’m heartbroken over the loss of the beautiful young boy, Gabe. I consider myself lucky to have gotten to watch him grow over years into a funny, kind, friendly kid. It was not nearly enough time. I remember the time Andrew and I went to a movie. We sat down and see Gabe sitting in the seat next to Andrew and they instantly started talking. Andrew truly enjoyed any time he was with Gabe. They laughed together the entire movie. Two boys enjoying a moment in time that I will remember forever.

I would light a million candles if they would fill the hole in my heart. Here's a green one to match his Christmas tree sweatshirt everyone keeps talking about. We actually just argued last week about the terminology between sweatshirt, hoodie, and sweater. Man, this kid LOVED to argue with me! I was always dumbfounded by how eloquent he spoke, I swear his vocabulary was as developed as mine. Arguing with him was actually one of my favorite things to do because I would sneak something dumb or silly in and the incredulous look on his face before he broke out in laughter made my day. My love for him can't even be put into words. He wasn't my student, he was my brother. I have two younger sisters and never knew the joy (and annoyance) of a brother until him. Gabe, my brother, I will miss you always. You were one of my favorite people on this planet.

Knowing we talked the day before he passed away breaks my heart. Gabe was such a unique and carefree kid. No family should ever have to go through this. Knowing the fact he was just 14 breaks my heart, he was taken away too soon. Everyone will miss him. Fly high Gabe.❤️

I may not go to CMS anymore and I wasn’t that close to Gabe but he was such a bright kid and made everyone around him laugh. He had bad days, but don't we all? I will always remember how he wore his christmas tree costume almost everyday during the holidays and everyone used to laugh, because even though he had his ups and downs, he was always lighting up the room. My heart goes out his family and Keirstyn (Im sorry if i spelled it wrong), I know its hard but just know he’s smiling down on you. He did not deserve to leave us so soon, rest easy Gabe, we love you ❤️.

I wasn’t the closest with Gabe but we had 8th period together. Every time he walked into that class he would always make people laugh by cracking jokes. He added so much positive energy to our class and made it so much more exiting to be in. I remember when he was super exited to get a christmas tree with his family a couple days ago. I loved seeing all his cool food combinations at lunch . He was always so sweet and kind to me whenever we had interactions and his smile will be missed upon me and many more.

I met Gabe in 4th grade when we first meet. We never were close but I did have steam with him and my gym class went with his but his jokes were funny and he always had a way to make someone laugh no matter if it was him walking in class with a Christmas tree hoddie or him just walking in with a joke. I never knew him like that but the feeling of losing someone you went to school with is something nobody should ever feel. I remember just 2 days ago he was working on his steam project. He would not stop talking about it and I loved hearing about it. And now that project won’t be touched again. It’s so sad and no 14 year old boy should go through this. Gabe was loved by everyone and I know he is all looking down on us. Rip Gabe you lived a good life. Fly high

I didnt personally know Gabe, but what I did know is that he seemed like a genuine person who spoke his mind. Me and Gabe never spoke in my entire life but I always found him funny. This family is in my prayers and im wishing the best for them. No child deserves to die that young. I couldnt even imagine how his family or people that truly knew him as a person feel. I feel so sympathetic for this family, nobody deserves to lose their little boy under such circumstances. This family is so strong and they have so many people right by their side in this. Gabe was an amazing kid and always put a smile on everyone’s faces. No matter where you were you always knew that Gabe was around either by his jokes or laugh. There wasn’t a day where he didn’t make me laugh. In history, he would always make funny comments about what we were learning or anything random. I remember last week he was telling the class how excited he was to get his Christmas tree and he was telling us all about them. He seemed so excited and he even wore his Christmas tree sweatshirt. And in the same week he threw something out the window because he didn’t like it. It made our silent class burst into laughter. In steam, he was so excited to start his project and it made me smile just to see how hard he was working on it. It’s truly heart breaking that he isn’t here with us anymore but I know that he is looking down at us right now and smiling. It was an honor to myself and everyone else just to be in his presence. Gabe will forever be and all of hearts and he will be missed very much. Rest in peace Gabe. ❤️

Gabe was a very talented young man who had so much to fulfill in life. At just 14 years old, he was taken from us. He was also the unique kid in class that everyone mostly doubted but proved everyone wrong. In 5th grade I met gabe . He was very chill and into himself a lot. In 6th grade we got really close in music. Every day after class he would chase us to lunch. We were going to stop with it but he kept going along with it. This 8th grade year more special. This was the year I was just getting to become really close to him. Every time I would see home in the halls and he would give me a head nod. I would have him for steam and he was working a project that he was working so hard on and so excited to to finish. The day before his death I didn’t realize he would pass the next day. Though his time was brief, his legacy of bright ideas will left behind, touching the hearts of many.

"A smile is like a hug that your face gives to someone's eyes." That is something I think of when I think about Gabe. He had such a silly, goofy smile that was so full of energy and life. Not many people got to experience that and I'm so glad I did. Throughout the 3 years me and Gabe have gone to school together, I've heard so many funny and silly and exciting stories about Gabe from my friends and when I finally got around to being able to experience having classes with him and talking to him I understood everything. We rarely talked, and I didn't know Gabe that well, but he was such an amazing kid. I stood behind him a lot when I would go up early to get lunch because every time I went up late I could never get a salad, and I think its going to be weird not standing behind him, salad in hand, waiting for him to finish putting in his code and getting his lunch and snacks everyday. Gabe is a person whose personality could never be replicated by anyone or anything. His memory is bound to live on in all of our hearts, it would be impossible to forget him.

Me and gabe were friends in elementary school, he was a peculiar and free spirit. He always followed the beat of his own drum and never let anyone tell him what to do. I still remember the day when we built a leaf pile with a few other classmates and jumped inside of it. It really wasn’t that big or had much leaves but it was so fun and I’ll always remember his laugh and the pure joy on his face. Or the time I helped him escape from school and he almost made it until he got caught, and he never told on me even though he could’ve he never did. Gabe was odd and so were some of the memories I made with him but he was really fricking cool and I’ll never forget him and his awesome Christmas tree jacket. The first day I met Gabe, I introduced myself as “Miss Kierstyn.” I told him I’d be hanging out with him during his classes and if he needed any help, to come to me. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. He looked up at me, scowled, and declared “I don’t know you.”
Well, obviously, kid. I just introduced myself.
It took a long time and it wasn't easy. But he changed. The scowling, though, that never went away.
He changed in ways that were revolutionary. What I didn’t expect is that I would be changed, too.
I wasn’t “Miss Kierstyn” anymore.
I was Kierstyn.
He was Gabe.
I was his Kierstyn.
He was my Gabe.
You could ask anyone in the school and they’d say the same.
He was mine. I was his.
I’ll carry him with me forever.

I worked with Gabe at Copeland. He was so much fun to spend time with. I’ll always remember him calling my heart shirt “the Valentine’s Day shirt.” He brought so much fun to our school with his unique personality!

I always tried to speak with Gabe when seeing him outside. One winter morning, he was making a snowman and instead of speaking, we had a snowball fight. I started it to break the ice (so to speak). He finished it with snowballs coming at me from all angles. He was laughing and giggling so hard. We shared a laugh that day that I will not soon forget. Rest in peace little buddy.
