I went to Morris Knolls High School and helped in the special education classroom for all four years. That is where I met Michele. She had my heart from the very first day! She was sweet and quiet but she had a lovely smile and I always felt lucky and special when she shared it with me. I said to my Mom back then, "If God needs to send a child with Down syndrome to someone, he can send one to me." Strangely enough, about 13 years later, God did exactly that! Michele made an impression on me and how I view Down syndrome...and I never forgot her. About 20 years ago or so, I was at Hershey Park in a ladies room. Imagine my surprise when I walked out of the stall to see Michele washing her hands at the sink! I was thrilled to see her though she didn't seem to remember me. I am so glad to see that Michele lived a long and happy life with much family that adored her. God bless you, Michele. I will never forget you and the impact you had on my life. Michelle was one of the kindest individuals the Browns have ever met. Our sister Rhonda was one of the original 5 in 5 friends household. Michelle and Rhonda were best of friends.
