Obituary of Peggy Jean Lazaro
Peggy Jean Lazaro, 75, of Denville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024. Born on February 2, 1949, Peggy was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Peggy was a dedicated matriarch who adored her family, especially her five grandchildren, playing an integral role in their upbringing. She had a special way of making each grandchild feel unique and loved, creating lasting memories through family traditions, celebrations, and shared laughter. Peggy’s home was always filled with warmth, delicious aromas from her kitchen, and the joyful sounds of family gatherings. Her famous holiday meals became legendary, bringing everyone together around the table to share stories, laughter, and love.
A lover of the ocean, Peggy found joy in the sun and surf of Lavallette, New Jersey, where she created countless cherished memories with her family and friends. She enjoyed long walks on the beach, collecting seashells, and soaking up the sun. The beach was her happy place, where she felt most at peace. Peggy also loved cruising the islands with her friends, exploring new destinations, and sharing laughter over sunset dinners, always ready for the next adventure. An avid shopper, she had a keen eye for finding treasures and enjoyed spending time browsing boutiques and local shops, often surprising her family with thoughtful gifts. Peggy had a deep appreciation for animals, especially her daughter’s dog, whom she adored. Her love for animals reflected her compassionate nature.
And though we mourn the loss of this incredible woman, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited in Heaven with those who passed before her; her beloved Pasquale Lazaro and her parents Orlando and Misse Cerrato. It is now that we look to her family to continue her legacy of love and kindness. Peggy`s survivors include her cherished children, Gina Marie Lazaro and Philip Lazaro and his wife Jennifer; her grandchildren, Gianna Foreman, Gregory Foreman, Gavin Foreman, Philip Lazaro, and Josephina Lazaro; her sister, Sylvia Clever and her husband James; and her niece, Melissa Trushell, her husband, John and family; her Brother-In-Law Angelo Lazaro, his wife, Marie and his two daughters Rene Lazaro and Daniele Mezzei. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A friend to many, Peggy had a gift for making people feel valued and understood. Her laughter was contagious, her advice wise, and her heart generous. She had an uncanny ability to light up any room she entered, and her kindness will be remembered by all who crossed her path.
Friends and relatives are welcome to join the family for a public visitation on Monday, October 7, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, Inc., 16 Righter Ave, Denville, NJ 07834.
