John J. Welgos passed away on Friday June 20, 2003 at his residence. He was 89 years old.
Born in Jersey City, NJ he had worked for Westinghouse for 37 years before retiring in 1975.
He had moved to Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania and lived there for 25 years before moving to Rockaway Township, NJ 2 years ago.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society, and the Nocturnal Adoration Society both in Saddle brook, NJ.
Surviving is his wife Cecelia (Novoshelski) of 66 years. His Son Robert of Wharton, NJ, Daughter Eileen Salcedo of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and a sister Helen Welgos of Brick, NJ.
Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday June 24 at 9:00AM for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Bernards Church in Rockaway Twp. At 10:00AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. Friends are invited to visit on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Covenant Hose in New York City.
