Obituary of Loretta C. Urban
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of Loretta Urban, who passed away on January 23rd, 2024.
Loretta was born to Patrick and Catherine O’Donnell in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, and was raised there among her many brothers and sisters until making the move to New Jersey. Loretta married the love of her life, Victor Urban, in July of1954 and the pair shared almost 70 years of marriage together. Victor describes Loretta as a kind woman with a generous heart that would do anything and everything to help those around her. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, and was a talented cook who made the best dishes for every 4th of July BBQ. Loretta was also a very classy lady who always dressed to impress, finishing every look with her signature red lipstick.
Those who knew Loretta were lucky to be a part of her life, as she was a selfless person with an absolute heart of gold, and we will all miss her so deeply. We look now to those she leaves behind to carry on that memory of generosity and kindness. Her survivors include her beloved husband, Victor Urban, as well as a wealth of cherished family, friends, and neighbors who will remember her fondly.
Hours of public visitation for Loretta will be held on Wednesday, January 31st from 9 to 11 AM at Norman Dean Home for Services. A procession will follow to the graveside service. The cemetery is approximately 1.5 hours from Norman Dean, so if anyone would like to meet at the cemetery, we will be arriving at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 S Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706, at 1 PM on January 31st.
