Stella P. Rychlicki passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Sunrise of Randolph. She had shared 97 years of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born and raised in Orange, NJ to the late Walter and Stella Paluba, she was one of two children. Stella was raised alongside her brother, graduating from Our Lady of the Valley High School, Class of 1944. Stella then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree; she started out her education at the College of New Rochelle in NY, and she graduated from Upsala College in 1948. Stella married Henry Rychlicki, on January 3, 1953. Together they settled in Bloomfield to raise a family of their own. Once her children were grown, she became an Elementary School Teacher at Demarest Elementary School in Bloomfield. She put in 23 years of hard work and dedication before retirement in 1989. Once Henry and Stella were both retired, they settled in Rockaway and became active members of the community and St. Cecilia Church, participating in St. Cecilia Seniors’ and the Rockaway Township Senior Citizens Social Club. Stella was also active in the Rosary Society, St. Monica’s Guild, and Divine Mercy Academy Grandfriends program. She was an accomplished knitter and contributed many children’s blankets to Project Linus.

Stella always provided an abundance of love and support for her family. Spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great- grandchildren brought her much joy.

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, in Heaven with family members that have passed before including her beloved husband, Henry, her parents, and her brother, Stanley.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loving daughters, Karen Rychlicki, Janet (Richard) Munczinski, and Andrea (Robert) DeFilippo; her cherished grandchildren, David (Christina) Munczinski, Jennifer (Ben) Falk, Amanda Carnavale, and Stephen (Ruth) DeFilippo; her treasured great-grandchildren, Briella and Reilly Carnavale, James and Lillian Falk, and John and Madeleine Munczinski; and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10th from 2 - 6 pm at St. Mary's Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 11th at 10 am at St. Cecilia Church, 90 Church Street, Rockaway. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery, Academy Street, Rockaway.
