Obituary of Eunice V Donlon
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of Eunice V. Donlon who passed away peacefully in her home at Mt. Arlington Senior Living on December 1 st , 2023 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 90.
Eunice was born on February 14, 1933 in Queens, NY and is survived by her husband of 69 years, Francis (Frank) Donlon. Eunice and Francis moved to Denville in October 1959 and lived in the Indian Lake section of Denville for 63 years before selling their house and moving into Mt. Arlington Senior Living in February 2022. Eunice worked for many years as a bus driver for the Denville Schools and for the Township of Denville. She helped coordinate the startup of the Denville Senior Citizen Transportation and drove the first Senior Citizen bus for many years. While living in Denville, Eunice was a Eucharistic Minister for many years and engaged in many of the activities within St. Mary’s Church.
She leaves behind her husband, Francis (Frank) Donlon, her children, Frank Donlon and his wife Jeryl, Eunice Gawlik and her husband Scott, Mary M. Gomez and her husband Richard, Sean Donlon and his wife Christine, Patrick Donlon and his wife Carol and Theresa Donlon and her fiancé Charles Mounteer; her grandchildren, Christopher Donlon (Kelly), Leanne Mohla (Gautam), Andrew Donlon, Elizabeth Gawlik, Carolyn Gawlik (Ryan), Brian Gawlik, Shannon Gomez (Beth Anne), Maryclaire Gomez (Michael), Jack Donlon, Chelsea Donlon, Gwendolyn Lavelle (Austin), Sara Stanulis (Scott), Kyle Stanulis (Larissa), and Ryan Stanulis; and her great grandchildren, Mia, Marcus, Lucas, Bryce and Eleanor.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Joanne Kelly, her siblings Martin, Joan, and John (Jack) and grandson-in-law Thomas Lavelle.
A Memorial Mass for Eunice is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12 th at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Ave, Denville, NJ. All are welcome to come and celebrate her life. Interment will follow immediately after at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, NY. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations are being accepted in her memory to Eleventh Hour Rescue and can be made through way of inmemof.org.
